Paddle Patagonia

Rafting Río Manso

Trip description

Price: U$D 50.00.

This is a Whitewater Rafting day trip on the famous “Frontera” section of the Manso River.  No experience is required to enjoy this spectacular paddle through class II-IV rapids in crystaline turquoise waters.

When you first arrive at the base you are given a snack before everyone is outfitted in the necessary gear for the activity (wetsuit, boots, lifejacket and helmet).  Your guide will give you instructions on rafting commands and a safety talk.  The rafts can hold 7 or 8 paddlers plus your guide and the trip lasts approximately 2 hours depending on river levels.

The trip begins in a calmer section of the river where you will have time to practice the commands and get used to paddling.  Afterwards the adrenaline starts to amp up as your guide takes you crashing through more than 10 rapids ranging in size from class II to IV.  Luckily there are calmer pools of water between each rapid to give you a chance to catch your breath.  The raft trip ends at the Chilean border where you will hop out of the rafts and drive back to the basecamp to change into dry clothes before the trip back to Bariloche.

There are two potential departures per day from September to March. You must reserve in advance and the minimum age is 14 years old.

*The actual cost of the trip will be charged in pesos and will depend on the exchange rate on the day of payment whether or not you require transport. Please inquire.
